Peru’s participation in International Exhibitions began with World Expo 1855 in Paris and it has continued to participate regularly in both World and Specialised Expos. In order to strengthen its involvement in Expos, it joined the BIE in 1982. Its participation has been rewarded on several occasions, receiving a Gold Award in its category for the content of its pavilion at World Expo 2005 Aichi, and a Gold Award for Exhibition Design at World Expo 2020 Dubai.
