Visiting Expo 2025 Osaka felt like stepping into the future.

The event was all about building a better world for everyone, and you could feel that message in every part of the Expo.

Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai is the third World Expo to take place in Japan and the latest in a long line of Expos that trace their genesis to 1851, when the Great Exhibition was held in London. While visitors are often seeking to discover the cultures of different cultures, the latest technologies and what Future Society has to offer, one pavilion offers a unique journey – into the history – and future - of Expos.

I'm Ebonie Platfoot, and having lived in Dubai for over 17 years, I was lucky enough to witness Expo 2020 Dubai firsthand and I documented many of the pavilions on my social media channels. Naturally, attending Expo 2025 in Osaka came with high expectations, but I’m happy to say it did not disappoint!

Amid the architectural and technological showcases of Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, gardens play a vital, unifying role - offering visitors not only moments of tranquillity, but also spaces of cultural dialogue, ecological reflection, and sensory discovery. These green spaces are living extensions of the themes that define the event, embodying ideas of sustainability, coexistence, and the human connection to nature.

For its fourth Theme Week, Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai turns its attention to a deeply human concern: health and overall well-being. From 20 June to 1 July 2025, this Theme Week invites global participants to come together under the theme: "Health and Well-being", aligned with one of the Expo’s core subthemes — Saving Lives.
