In the latest two episodes of the Inside Expo podcast, learn about the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), from its Secretary General, Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, and discover how Expo 2020 Dubai is helping to build a more resilient future for all through its Expo Live programme.
In “Who Organises Expos”, Dimitri S. Kerkentzes discusses the BIE’s role in overseeing the organisation of Expos and their different types, emphasising the unique identity of each Expo in line with its time and place. Reflecting on his own experience of Expos, he recounts his discovery of the convening power of World Expos at Expo 2005 Aichi, up to the emotion of Expo 2020 Dubai’s opening ceremony after its year-long postponement.
“The Future is Well” looks at two projects being supported by the Expo Live initiative, Expo 2020 Dubai’s grant programme, that aim to expand access to counselling and treatment for mental well-being, where those in need may struggle to get the help they need.
