Inside Expo – Legacy and Innovation

The three most recent episodes of Expo 2020 Dubai's Inside Expo podcast focus around two key aspects of all Expos: their legacy, and the innovations they showcase.

With a double-feature dedicated to the lasting impact of Expos, the podcast traces the different ways in which World Expos shape their host cities in the years and even decades after the event closes. ‘Legacy I: After the Expo Leaves Town’ looks at how this has been the case since Expo 1851 London with the South Kensington district. ‘Legacy II: District 2020’ then look at the case of Expo 2020 Dubai and how its legacy district has been carefully planned as a brand-new multidimensional neighbourhood that will form a core part of Dubai.

The most recent episode, ‘Designing Technology for a Better Future’ notes the fact that technological advances have been at the core of Expos since the very start, with one of the key aims of these events to show, explain and inspire the public on how innovations shape the future. Just as this was the case for the steam engine during the industrial age, this remains true today with Expo 2020 Dubai aiming to showcase how technology can better serve humanity.

Inside Expo is a bi-weekly podcast series by Expo 2020 Dubai and produced by Kerning Cultures Network.
