The Republic of Lithuania participated for the first time in an Expo at World Expo 1992 in Seville. Since then, it has actively participated in World and Specialised Expos. In order to strengthen its involvement in Expos, it became a Member of the BIE in 2009. At Specialised Expo 2012 Yeosu, its pavilion was rewarded with a Silver Award in its category for its design and presentation.
