Greece has participated in Expos since the Great Exhibition of London in 1851, with regular participation at World Expos and Specialised Expos ever since. In 1928, Greece signed the Paris Convention, thus becoming a founding member of the BIE. Greece has had several award-winning pavilions, including those honoured by the BIE at World Expo 2005 Aichi and World Expo 2010 Shanghai.
