Denmark’s presence at World Expos dates from the very first, the Great Exhibition of London in 1851. A founding member of the BIE, Denmark ratified the Paris Convention in 1932, and participates regularly in World and Specialised Expos. The Danish pavilion was rewarded at Specialised Expo 2008 Zaragoza with a Silver Award in its category for design, and at World Expo 2010 Shanghai with a Bronze Award in its category for the architecture of its pavilion.
