Inside Expo – What is an Expo?

Expo 2020 Dubai – the first World Expo to take place in the Middle East, Africa & South Asia (MEASA) region, themed “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” – opened its gates on 1 October 2021 and will welcome millions of visitors before it closes on 31 March 2022.

For many visitors, it will be the first time they ever visit a World Expo, so what are these global events, and what is their history? ‘Inside Expo’ is a podcast series by Expo 2020 Dubai and produced by Kerning Cultures Network, chronicling the captivating stories of Expos since the very first one took place in London in 1851.
