The BIE welcomes South Sudan as its 168th Member State

The Republic of South Sudan has accessed the BIE as its 168th Member State. The newly independent country will now have a voice in the BIE's decisions. South Sudan has gained independence on July 9th 2011 after a referendum issued in January 2011 under the terms of the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and was admitted by the General Assembly of the UN on July 14th 2011.
