Today, December 10th, H.E. Mr. Nurlan Danenov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to France handed the recognition dossier of Expo 2017 to the Secretary General of the BIE, Mr. Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales.

The recognition dossier is the first step in the organization of an Expo after the election of the host country by the Member States of the BIE. It plays a crucial role in the process since it officialises the project that was submitted during the bid and presents in detail all aspects of the Expo from legislative and financial measures to the master plan of the site and the post-expo reutilization plan.
The Secretary General of the BIE congratulated the teams working on Expo 2017 Astana for their professionalism. "This recognition dossier is the result of a job well done. The teams were very quick in getting organized after the election and have worked very well ever since".The BIE will now take a few months to examine the dossier and make sure it follows the regulations of the organization. It should give then give its official recognition to the project during the General Assembly of June 2014.
An Expo to be remembered in Kazakhstan
Expo 2017 Astana will be the first Expo in Central Asia, bringing Expos out of their historic playground. For Kazakhstan, the event will have an important role in developing the region. The theme of the Expo "Future Energy" is in line with the country's strategic plan for 2050 leading towards Green economy. "The Expo will help us change the basis of our economy" explained H. E. Mr. Nurlan Danenov.
As the Expo will help build the nation's future, the involvement of the young generations is an important part of the project. "Expo 2017 is a project for the people and the younger population is very active in its organization" added H. E. Mr. Nurlan Danenov.
