    The Deputy Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Dimitri Kerkentzes, is carrying out a working visit to Azerbaijan to discuss the bid project to organise World Expo 2025 in Baku. The purpose of the visit is for authorities in Azerbaijan to build on their bid project and to prepare for the Enquiry Mission, a formal visit of a BIE delegation in early 2018.     Japan (Osaka), Russia (Ekaterinburg), Azerbaijan (Baku) and France (Greater Paris) each presented a more detailed idea of their projects for World Expo 2025 during the 162nd General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) on 15 November.     Russia (Ekaterinburg), Japan (Osaka), Azerbaijan (Baku) and France (Greater Paris) have submitted their bid dossiers for the organisation of World Expo 2025 to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). The four candidates thus enter the project examination phase of the bidding process. Bid dossiers are comprehensive documents detailing the Expo project. They are sent to delegates of all the BIE’s 170 Member States and outline the candidate’s vision for the Expo, including the site, the theme, and the planned intellectual and physical legacy.     Azerbaijan submitted today a letter of candidature to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) to organise World Expo 2025 in Baku, its capital.
