The lecture "History of World Expos: a new research domain" is held June 5, 2012 at the Universtiy of Paris 7 Paris Diderot. The meeting is organized by Liliane Pérez from the University, and Christiane Demeulenaere-Douyère, Chief Curator of the Archives Nationales. And Sandrine Toiron Mons, documentalist of the Bureau International des Expositions, gave a presentation on "the BIE library and documentation."
The participants showed great interests towards the topic and explored a rich collection of documents, archives and photo database of BIE's library. The lecturer also introduced the future World Expo Museum, to be built in the past Expo site of Shanghai Expo 2010, which will include a Documentation and Research Center offering a wide rage of digital copies of documents in BIE library.
Mme Toiron Mons reminded the public that the BIE library is accessible to scholars as well as to the public by a simple appointment with the documentation service of the Bureau.
This kind of meeting helps a wider broadcast of BIE's documentation resources, especially in the universities.
