Design: The Pavilion of Russia will present fairy-tale visions of cities as seen through the eyes of a child. On a plot of 6000 m2, 12 white towers 20 meters in height and a 15-meter tall central building will duplicate the ancient Ural towns dating back 3000 years ago, with their irregular shapes giving them a modern touch.
The three main exhibition areas will be themed after the fictional cities taken from the children’s book, “The Adventures of DUNNO and His Friends,” by the famed author Nikolay Nosov: the City of Flowers, the City of Sun, and the City of Moon. Bright colors will paint the walls of the pavilion, and visitors will be able to enter the mushroom-shaped houses.
Concept: The fairly tale concept of the pavilion will aim to recreate a “comfortable city” from a child’s perspective, which, designers of the pavilion believe, is the most “livable city.” Cutting-edge technologies for a “better city” will be exhibited in the fairy-tale setting, with the achievements of Russian youth and young scientists highlighted.
The City of Flowers will exhibit environmental technology, the City of Sun new clean energies, and the City of Moon space exploration.
