30/06/09 – The results of a survey conducted by EXPO Milano 2015 on the attitudes of the Milan residents towards the Expo were announced on Tuesday by the CEO of Expo 2015 S.p.A, Lucio Stanca, in the presence of the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Italian government for Expo 2015 and Mayor of Milan, Letizia Moratti. The survey – called “Exponiti”— was conducted on a sample of 16,500 Milan residents online at www.exponiti.it and through interviews in the city. The results showed enthusiasm by citizens for the Expo, with 77% of the respondents answering that they believed the Expo will have a positive impact on land, participation of the youth and immigrants, and that the Expo will be an event that could counter the crisis.     ... 01/07/09 – The Shanghai Sculpture Space will, starting Friday, host an exhibition of about 250 sculptures created by artists from more than 20 countries and regions for the occasion of EXPO Shanghai 2010. The sculptures aim to highlight China’s early industry; the works are meant to reflect this spirit, and designers held interviews with retired workers from the shipyards before making the sculptures to this end.     ... 25/06/09 – Tickets for EXPO Shanghai 2010 are selling well, according to Expo organizers. Since March 27, about 1.7 million tickets have been sold, with 10% of them having been sold outside of China. According to organizers, more than 5000 corporate and institutional buyers have bought the tickets. Of the domestic buyers, about 90% were from Shanghai. Buyers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Beijing accounted for 8% so far.     ... Read More

25/06/09 – Organizers of EXPO Milano 2015 announced the approval of the establishment of the Expo Scientific Committee, which will contribute to maintaining a high level of quality in the content and projects of the Expo in 2015. The committee will be presided by Professor Roberto Schmid, Director of IUSS (Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori di Pavia - Institute for Advanced Study of Pavia) and former Rector of the University of Pavia, who has an extensive experience in the field of education and research. Adriano Gasperi, doctor, coordinator of programs in development cooperation in several countries, and former Executive Secretary of the 15th Antarctic Consultative Meeting (ATCM), will be the Secretary-General.     ...
